Update Guide

Who should use this guide

Use this page when the client shows an update prompt, support asks you to move to a new build, or you need to refresh a damaged installation.

Before you begin

- Close the client completely before patching - Know which version you are moving from and to - Back up custom settings only if your support policy requires it

Steps

1

Read the target version first

Confirm the required build in Changelog or the support instruction. Do not patch to an unknown version.
2

Choose in-place update or clean reinstall

If the current install is healthy, use the standard update path. If you already had launch or version issues, use a clean folder and reinstall instead.
3

Apply the update and wait for completion

Let the updater finish fully. Do not interrupt it, move the folder, or launch a second copy during patching.
4

Confirm the version after patching

Open the client again and verify the displayed version. If the version did not change, go to Version Mismatch.

Common questions

Should I overwrite the old folder manually?

Only if the official update procedure for your product says so. Otherwise use the normal updater or a clean reinstall path.

The update completes but the client still behaves like the old version.

That is usually a mixed-file or path issue. Open Version Mismatch.

The update stops partway through.

Open Update Failed and complete that guide before retrying.
