Use this page when Windows shows a warning, blocks the file, prevents execution, or sends the package to quarantine during download, install, or launch.

Steps

Read the exact Windows message first
Identify whether the prompt is SmartScreen, User Account Control, Defender quarantine, or a file property block. The fix is different for each one.

Verify the source before bypassing anything
Confirm the package name, version, and source link. If any of that looks wrong, download again from the official source instead of bypassing the warning.

Apply the smallest required allow action
For SmartScreen, use the correct allow path only if the package is verified. For blocked ZIP or EXE files, remove the block in file properties only for the required file. Do not globally weaken Windows security.

Test the client again
After the allow action, try the install or launch step again. If the file is still blocked or removed, continue to Permission Error.

Is it safe to disable Defender completely?
No. Avoid turning off broad security features unless support gives a temporary, exact instruction.
